Policies and Payment

School Year Policies

MISSED LESSON POLICY: Students are allowed one absence per each semester (half year) if advance notice is given to the teacher. This includes absences for religious holidays, trips out of town, school music performances, or school related activities. Last minute cancellations the day of or no shows without advance notice do not qualify for lesson credits. Makeups for Academy closings due to inclement weather will be done during the designated make up days at the midyear and at the end of the school year.

TERMINATION POLICY: Two weeks notice is required to terminate private lessons. The office must be notified directly rather than a verbal notice given to a teacher.

MONTHLY TUITION PAYMENT INSTALLMENTS: There are 36 weeks of scheduled lessons for all students for the school year regardless of which day of the week the student is scheduled. We have factored holidays into this count so that all lesson days will total 36 weeks by the end of the school year. Due to holidays and the fact that some months will have more than 4 weeks of lessons and some less we are dividing the yearly total evenly across the nine month period. The monthly installments cover the yearly total. We have divided these payments into 9 installments. Payment for these lessons is due in advance of services rendered monthly. Contact the office for the lesson rates.

MONTHLY TUITION PAYMENTS: A monthly bill will be mailed to you. The first monthly installment is due at registration along with the $75 registration fee. The monthly tuition due date is the 10th of each month thereafter. Please make checks payable to The Georgia Academy of Music. Payments may be made in the office or sent to GAM, P.O. Box 250347 Atlanta, GA. 30325. You may also set up an automatic check draft to be sent from your bank monthly.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS: If you would like to pay by Mastercard or Visa rather than by a check, please contact the office and make your payment arrangements. There is a 3% surcharge to your monthly payment should you elect to pay by credit card.

Summer Policy and Payment

Payment for summer lessons is due upon registration. The tuition total will be customized to reflect the exact number of lessons scheduled during the summer. During the summer we offer flexible scheduling to allow for vacation and travel. Each teacher has a minimum required lesson number for their studio and eligibility for priority early school year registration.

To set up summer lessons the student must contact the office directly either by phone or email. Office: 404-355-3451/musicgam@bellsouth.net
