Sherri Seiden, Voice
Ms. Seiden was a 1st place winner of the District and Regional Metropolitan Opera Competition as well as National Finalist. She completed a postgraduate program with the University of Toronto's Opera Division and a Bachelor of Music degree at the Boston Conservatory of Music.
Many of Ms.Seiden's students have gone on to perform in Broadway shows such as Cinderella, Mary Poppins and Les Miserables. Her students have also been excepted and enrolled in the Boston Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Boston University, Belmont, NYU, UCLA and others. "As a proud mother of two wonderful teenagers, I am committed to inspiring and changing children's lives through Music!"
Currently Ms. Seiden has a student performing in Hong Kong Disney's 'Mickey and the Wonderous Book' playing that wonderful "Ariel" from Little Mermaid. Her student Savannah was quoted: "Ms. Seiden is a teacher that not only expanded my range but pushed me to find my true potential in an encouraging way. I would highly recommend her as a teacher if you're looking to grow in an uplifting environment."
Upon the request of composer /conductor John Rutter, Sherri Seiden has been chosen for the 5th time as the Maestros choice Soprano for his Requiem at Carnegie Hall's Isaac Stern Auditorium. Ms. Seiden has had the distinct pleasure of also performing the Brahms Requiem as soloist at Carnegie several times, as well as Alice Tully Hall. Mr. Rutter was quoted as saying "With confidence and secure technique, Ms. Seiden filled the hall with a serenely beautiful sound which was widely remarked on afterwords by admiring choristers and audience alike.” Ms.Seiden has been requested to return again to Carnegie Hall in the 2018 season.
Recent Concert appearances include New Year's Eve: A Viennese Celebration with the Alabama Symphony featuring my Operetta CD "Lover Come Back", Christopher Confessore, conductor. Other concert appearances included performances as soloist with the National Philharmonic in Washington, DC. The The program included Mozart's Requiem, Bach Cantata #51 "Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landen", Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass and Mendelssohn Symphony #2.
Favorite Opera roles include Queen of the Night in Magic Flute, Rosina in Barber of Seville, Jake Heggie'sAt the Statue of Venus, Amor in Gluck's Orfeo, and Stella in Andre Previn's A Streetcar named Desire at the Tennessee Williams Festival in Provincetown Ma.
As an original cast member as the first national touring company of the Broadway show Beauty and the Beast, Sherri also had the opportunity to perform the role of Christine in the European tour of Phantom.
