Corina Brito , Suzuki violin.

Corina Brito has a B.A. in violin performance from St. Marcelina College in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and an M.A. in arts administration from the London City University in the UK. She has been teaching violin and general music for over twenty years. She has also been a children's choral director in the Maryland and Virginia public school system.

Corina has taken training from well-known Suzuki teachertrainers Martha Shackford, Ronda Cole, John Kendall, Carrie Reuning-Hummel, Lorraine Fink and Kimberly Meier-Sims.

Corina implements the Suzuki pedagogy in highly creative ways, often using games, singing and movement. The Suzuki triangle, comprised of teacher, student and parent is at the heart of Corina's studio. She provides an encouraging environment in which students can develop their musical potential, and parents can deepen their understand of the Suzuki philosophy.

Corina accepts beginning students as young as three years old, previously trained Suzuki students, and adults. Corina Brito is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the Suzuki Association of Georgia.

Laura Donovan, Suzuki violin.

Laura began studying violin at age 4 as a Suzuki violin student in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. She holds a BA in business from the University of Wisconsin and an MA in Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota. After working in industry, she returned to school and received her BA in Music Performance from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT in 1994 and has been teaching and playing ever since. New to the Georgia Academy of Music in 2002, Laura recently moved to Atlanta from Massachusetts where she had a teaching studio of about 40 students.

Bonnie Gartley, suzuki violin.

Mrs. Gartley brings a wide variety of teaching and performing experience to The Georgia Academy of Music. She holds a Masters of Music specializing in violin pedagogy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelors of Arts in Music from Florida State university. In addition to her degrees she has also attended numerous teaching workshops including Suzuki institutes and Young Artist workshops. Ms. Gartley has had training in all ten volumes of the Suzuki Violin School, which includes work registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Ms. Gartley has performed with numerous orchestras in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, including performances in Chicago's Symphony Hall.

Aki Ohazama , suzuki violin.

M.M. Yale University, B.M. New England Conservatory. A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Aki Ohazama entered the violin studio of Professor Eliot Chapo at Florida State University¹s School of Music at age 14. Along with extensive orchestral experience, Ms. Ohazama is an active chamber musician and has performed all along the eastern United States. Ms. Ohazama has 10 years of teaching experience varying from a registered Suzuki instructor to practice coach for pre-college students. She has previously taught in Pittsburgh, PA at Center for Young Musicians, Yale Universty undergraduates, and Bethwood Suzuki School in Woodbridge, CT.

Group ensemble emphasizing Suzuki repertoire and performance meeting weekly. Cost is $170 per half year.
