Camden Blaine Beavers, flute, piano
Originally from Neck City, Missouri, Camden Blaine Beavers-Sidenstricker holds a Bachelor of Music degree in flute and piano performance from Pittsburg State University (2014) and a Masters of Music degree in flute and piano performance from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. His primary flute teachers includes Krista Jobson, Kristyn Son, James Hall, Christina Webster, and Mary Fukushima-Kirkendoll. His piano instructors include Debra Snodgrass, Stacey Barelos, Renee Natenberg, and Shoko Kinsella. He has had the opportunity to perform in flute masterclasses for Amy Porter, Laurel Swinden, Mark Teplitsky, Marianne Gedigian, Patricia Surman, Amy Tully, Gary Schocker, Tim Hagen, Marissa Olin, Danilo Mezzadri, Kristen Delia Hayes, James Hall, and Mary Elizabeth Thompson.
As an orchestral musician, Beavers has performed with the Valley Symphony Orchestra, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Southeast Kansas Symphony, Heartland Opera, Pittsburg State Opera, and Missouri Southern Symphony Orchestra. Outside of orchestral playing, he has performed in ensembles at Texas Music Educators Association, National Flute Convention, Missouri Music Educators Association, and International Double Reed Society.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Southeast Symphony Orchestra performing the Mozart Concerto for Flute and Harp with DeMaris Rector and can be heard as principal flute on the Grand Mesa recording for 2017-2018 New Music Collection. He was selected to be a guest performer at the Greater Philadelphia Flute Society, performing flute music of Forest Pierce. He also serve as a board member for the San Diego Flute Guild.
He is a member of the Hunt-Beavers Flute and Harp Duo which is currently working on new repertoire for this summer 2019-2020 tour season throughout the Midwest. He is currently a member of the chamber ensemble in McAllen, Texas for Flute/Violin/Piano that performed throughout the Valley.
Beavers has participated in numerous competitions throughout the United States, recently was a semi finalist for the Nafzger Competition 2016, finalist in the UTRGV Concerto competition with the Lieberman Concerto, masterclass winner in the Texas Flute Society, and first place winner in the Denise Jennings Flute Solo Competition.
He is a member of the National Flute Association, Houston Flute Club, Texas Flute Society, San Diego Flute Guild, Atlanta Flute Club, and the Greater Philadelphia Flute Society.
In addition to flute performance, Beavers has a steady career accompanying several faculty members throughout the Midwest.
