Laura Benjamin, piano/voice
Laura is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist originally from New York. She has a BA from Yale University, where she was also heavily involved in the performing arts via her a cappella singing group, Out of the Blue, and periodic musical theatre. Since moving to Atlanta in 2000, she has been involved with a variety of music projects, including a swing band, a musical comedy ensemble, various solo piano-vocal showcases, and even a professional holiday caroling company. Her current focus is her original music project, called LB Collective, which is about to release its 2nd album of pop-rock music.

Though Laura’s personal music journey has taken her more in a popular/contemporary direction, from a teaching perspective, she is deeply committed to the underlying basic fundamentals of musicality. She enjoys working with all types of students, especially those who are interested in combining singing and instrumental accompaniment. Comfortable teaching classical-style minuets as John Williams-esque instrumentals or Taylor Swift pop tunes, Laura hopes to empower her students with the same love of music that has characterized her own life.
