Henry Turner, guitar
Henry Turner is a guitarist and singer/songwriter from Dalton, Georgia. Over the last two decades, he has performed as sideman with many regional acts in the Southeast, and has supported national acts such as Santana, Jeff Beck, Government Mule, and The Black Crowes. While attending the Georgia State University in 1989-90, Henry studied classical guitar under John Sutherland, and jazz guitar under Rick Burgess. This experience left him with a strong interest in music education. While attending the School of American Music at the University of North Florida, Henry received a firm footing in jazz harmony, arranging, and guitar pedagogy.
As a musician and teacher with over twenty years of experience, Henry believes that every person has a degree of musicality and creativity within, and that this quality is unique to each individual. A teacher that is well matched to a student will help them realize their potential, and inspire them to develop it. Henry’s specialties include roots music, blues, rock and roll, and jazz.
Henry also works in the field of audio electronics as a technician, builder, and consultant in audio amplification. He has been employed by Aiken Amplification, Blankenship Amplification, and Goodsell Amplification.
