Andy Zabinski, violin
Andy Zabinski began Suzuki violin at the Georgia Academy at age six. He went on to study with Ronda Respess (Atlanta Symphony) before entering college. He has over 15 years of professional experience performing with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and teaching beginner to collegiate level violin. Mr. Zabinski was adjunct professor of violin and music theory at Vanderbilt from 2001-2003, and completed all but dissertation in a doctorate of orchestral conducting from 2000-2004. He has worked extensively throughout the southeast as a freelance violinist and conductor since 2005 while maintaining a thriving studio at the Bowling Green String Academy.
As a teacher Mr. Zabinski incorporates his experience as a conductor and composer, as well as his studies of American folk music, by including music theory, improvisation and aural development into his curriculum.
Andy holds a Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor of Music from Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University.
